What are Running Ranks?

Running Ranks are a fun way to measure your speed, track progress, and compete with friends. As you improve your times across different distances, your ranks will increase. You can earn ranks for individual race distances like the mile, 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon.

How are Running Ranks Calculated?

Running Ranks are calculated using your age, gender, and finish time for a given distance. Based on your performance, you will be given a rank of Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Elite, or Immortal. Ranks are distance-specific so you may hold a Gold rank in the 5K while still working toward Silver in the marathon.

There are three ways to import your running data into Arc:

  • Sync Apple Health to automatically import your run history.

  • Sync Strava to automatically import your run history.

  • Manually add a run from the Workout tab by selecting Add Activity in the Quick Start section.

You can connect Strava or Apple Health from the Planning tab at any time to keep your run history up to date. Due to technical limitations, we can only pull in the last 30 days of run history.

Tips for Ranking Up

To rank up faster, focus on consistent training and gradual progression:

  • Train with variety: Mix intervals, tempo runs, and long runs to build both speed and endurance.

  • Prioritize recovery: Rest days, stretching, and proper fueling help you perform your best.

  • Set realistic goals: Work to improve your pace over one distance at a time before moving to the next.

  • Stay consistent: Running three to five times per week gives you the best chance of climbing the ranks.
